If you’re like me, you have always loved to design and create.

My childhood was full of clay, crayons, acrylic paints and latch hook kits. Remember those?  These days, I still love painting and drawing. The happiest times spent with my boys are on the floor with a big box of crayons and lots of scrap paper. But crochet has become my true passion and I am loving the maker life.  I’m really excited that you’re here because I have lots of yarn love and crochet patterns to share.

My home is in Florida where I live with my hubby, my two hilarious little boys, and my beautiful step-daughter. She is one of my biggest supporters and has been happily modeling my crochet creations for me. Even though I don’t thank him enough, my husband has also supported me immensely on this journey.  His hard work and dedication to the US Military has made it possible for me to quit my job as a nurse to stay at home and raise my kids.

For the past two years, I have learned absolutely everything I could learn about crochet. I read every book I could get my hands on, took every Craftsy class and watched every YouTube video. My formal living room has become my “office.”  I spend most of my free time here with my yarn and my computer. Who really needs a formal living room anyway?  I say a yarn room is way more fun, even if I’m the only one that says that.

Saying I am thankful to the crochet blogging community for teaching me everything I know is an understatement!  My goal for mommylovesyarn.com is to contribute to that community. To share my own personal and unique free crochet patterns. And to teach other makers everything I know about crochet.

I am focused on creating stylish designs for beginner to intermediate crocheters. I want you to love what you have created and to have fun along the way.  Look out for new free patterns that I will be posting regularly along with other fun resources. Let me know what you think of my blog and what you would like to see more of. I can’t wait to continue this journey together, to learn more, to inspire and to always keep creating.
