Cashmere Bliss fall sweater

By August 12, 2019 No Comments

Since garments are my favorite crochet projects, Ive become accustomed to which fibers work best with which types of garments. For example, cottons are great for light and lacy summer tops. Yet not all cottons make appropriate garments, one must choose wisely, but that’s for another post! Lets talk about the yarn I used for the Cashmere Bliss fall sweater.

I am a huge fan of lovecrafts.com because they have one of the largest offerings of yarns and accessory of all the companies out there. Plus they offer a ton of great coupons, specials and sales. I sell PDF copies of my patterns on love crafts.com and so do many other talented crochet designers. And don’t forget, you can even get some FREE PDF Crochet patterns like my Miami Metallic tank top, if you don’t have your copy yet, click here.

Lovecrafts features Debbie Bliss yarns which are beautiful, high quality soft and exceptional yarns. For the Cashmere Bliss fall sweater I used Debbie Bliss toast. A super squish-able, silky yarn that worked really beautifully with this sweater. A mix of 10% luxurious cashmere, 65% wool and 25 % polyamide which makes for a perfect garment yarn. It has a great “snap back” elasticity that makes a well-fitted, not heavy garment like this sweater. Each ball holds 459 yards, so you’ll only need 3 balls for a size small sweater.

Notes

Sweater is worked from top down in joined rounds without turning. Rounds are joined with a sl st either in the beg sc or the 3rd ch of beg ch 3, where applicable.  It is helpful to mark the first st of each round with a st marker to keep track.

For the purpose of this pattern, ch-1 space counts as a st.

Model is 5’ 3” tall with a 34 inch bust shown wearing size S.

Garment is designed to have a fitted look with .25- 2 inches positive ease.

Gauge is crucial for this project, please check gauge before you begin.
